Our Diabolical Embrace's Immortal Night Laments EP, as well as the Uruk-Hai/Funeral Fornication Split Album are both available for pre-order now and this will run until September 18th, the day before the official release for both albums. 'netra' official signs a deal with Hypnotic Dirge Records

Although some of you may have known for a while now about netra's involvement with Hypnotic Dirge Records, it has now been made official. netra is a project from the town of Kemper, France active since 2003 who play a very interesting blend of black metal, trip-hop, and alternative rock, netra is a musical entity unlike any other that deserves your attention. Hypnotic Dirge Records plans to release the debut netra album entitled 'Melancolie Urbaine' on Pro-CD in an edition of 500 in November 2010. Funeral in Heaven - Shanthikarma [Live EP ; 2010] available for free download!

I are pleased to announce that Hypnotic Dirge Records was approached a couple of weeks ago by the acclaimed underground Sri Lankian Black Metal band "Funeral in Heaven" to digitally release their Live EP "Shanthikarma" through our 'downloads' section. For those of you who have not heard of Funeral in Heaven before, and for those of you who have never heard of Sri Lanka before (It's an island country of the coast of India), I highly recommend downloading this album as this is certaintly not a band to pass up. Given the natural barriers they have had to overcome playing black metal in a country ravaged by civil war, and actually being able to form a full band line-up, as well as sounding damn good live, they certaintly have an edge on a good majority of bands from traditional black metal countries. Immundus signs deal with Quartier 23

Immundus has signed a deal with the Ambient/Experimental label Quartier 23 , and has thus left Hypnotic Dirge Records. I would like to thank Bruno Duarte - solo member of the project Immundus and a founding member of the original Hypnotic Dirge lineup for his cooperation and partnership over the past 18 months. We have successfully released the acclaimed "Haunted Memories" album together which was the first pro-CD Digipack release on HDR back in April 2009, as well as two digital albums since he joined the label. There were/are no hostilities between us whatsoever, and I wish him the best of luck with the next chapter in his project, and hopefully Quartier 23 is the right label for Immundus to present his haunting soundscapes on a label a little more suited to his style! We remain good friends through all this, and it will not affect us personally, after all...it is only music! We will continue to follow his developments and would gladly distribute his forthcoming full-length album in 2011.

Now, for a bit of a general statement about the state of Hypnotic Dirge Records - some of you may be a little bit alarmed about our slow release schedule through the first half of 2010, but rest assured that the second half of 2010 is shaping up to be extremely busy! We have some fantastic releases planned for the next 6-9 months, and my financial situation seems to have gotten to the point where I can release new material at a regular pace once again. Throughout the long history of a label, there is bound to be some personnel changes due to projects leaving, projects being kicked off, and projects being put to rest, but through all this, Hypnotic Dirge Records will continue on, and progress as it sees fit. Our next release kicking off the start of an extremely busy and proporous second half of 2010 will be the new Exiled From Light album 'There is no beauty left here...' released as a double-album on Pro-CD which you can now pre-order HERE!

Exiled From Light - There is no beauty left here... will be released Summer 2010

We are currently raising up funds in order to bring you the latest Exiled From Light album in a deluxe 2-CD edition featuring over 110 minutes of music, on a Pro CD (limited to 500 copies). We plan to release this in July or August of 2010, but it all depends on the sales of the label. We need to raise up $2000 for the manfacturing costs of this album, along with artwork services and some minor promotions. Thus far, we have raised up about $850 but we need the full $2000 before we can even begin the manfacturing process! If you are a fan of Hypnotic Dirge Records, Exiled From Light, or any other projects on the label, please help us out and support our activities and you shall be rewarded for it!

Old Forgotten Lands and Immundus release free download albums!

We have managed to solve the problems that we have been having lately with our webserver, and we have now made two new albums available to download for free on our DOWNLOADS page. Immundus has released a short digital single release called Poemia, and Old Forgotten Lands has released a 30 minute EP called Risen Tide which was written over the summer of 2009. 

In other news, just a reminder that the Symbiosis/Ancient Tundra - These Engulfing Winds Never Die CD+DVD Split album was officially released today, and you can pick up a copy on the RELEASES section of the website.

HDR is pleased to welcome 'Old Forgotten Lands' to the Hypnotic Dirge Records family!

Hypnotic Dirge Records is pleased to announce that we have added Old Forgotten Lands onto the HDR artist roster! Although we were not activily seeking out any additional projects, we took this great opportunity to sign Old Forgotten Lands after the project and its previous lable affiliate 'EEE Recordings' decided on a mutual agreement to part ways. I also want to point out the fact that there are no problems between the project and its previous lable, and they are still on good terms. You can read the official statement from Elan O'Neal by going to the newly created OLD FORGOTTEN LANDS ARTIST BLOG. For those of you who have not heard of this project before, and want to get a little bit of background on the project, or view a brand new video update from Elan O'Neal concerning the project's new lable, new instruments, and new direction, you can go to the OLD FORGOTTEN LANDS ARTIST PROFILE on the HDR website.

Of course, most of you will know that Hypnotic Dirge Records, and Old Forgotten Lands has worked together in the past in the release of the Old Forgotten Lands/Ancient Tundra - Equinox Split Album and you can view more information about that release by clicking HERE.

I look forward to what the future holds for this lable! Although releases have come in a slower pace over the past few months, it is really the calm before the storm. As long as we get the neccesary funding from sales, we have plans to release new albums with brand new material from Exiled From Light, Neige et Noirceur, Astral Luminous, The Foetal Mind, and Funeral Fornication as soon as possible!

Symbiosis/Ancient Tundra Split CD+DVD available to pre-order NOW!

The next Hypnotic Dirge Records release is perhaps our most extensive and professional release to date. We are proud to release the long-awaited split album from the ambient artists Symbiosis and Ancient Tundra. Our very first DVD disc is included in this new album which comprises over 2 hours worth of audio and video work from these two fine ambient artists. The release date is set for March 14th, 2010 which is the date that the release will be shipped out to all pre-order customers. We will post pictures of our latest release as we get nearer to the official release date, but one thing is for certain, this is a monumental release for all fans of ambient, classical. and industrial music and a chance to own the first ever Hypnotic Dirge Records DVD release.

In other news, we were supposed to release a free download single from Immundus on February 13th, 2010 but we have been having some problems lately with our webserver, and have not been able to post it on our downloads page. We will hopefully have this problem resolved soon and regret not being able to release this album on the planned release date but seeing as its a digital download, the problem is not a large one. Astral Luminous News and Interviews

Scott Johnson of Astral Luminous has announced the following statement with regards to his upcoming album and the unfortunate theft of his equipment just a few days ago:

Scott Johnson: At the moment, I am writing the material for the 2nd album. It will be the first official studio recorded album! I am very excited about this release! I have a great feeling about it. However, there has been a major delay... The other day I had all my things stolen from me. My electric and acoustic guitars, my bass, and my computer and hard drive. All the information from the new album is gone... Good thing the material was not finished. Hopefully the information is not in the wrong hands... anyways, I do still have my health and creativity which will never go away. I am very thankful for that at least. So I will continue to complete the synth portions of the album, but will have to wait for my new guitar and bass, which should be soon. Besides that, the artwork and design of the album 2 layout will be a collaboration between Médan Savamhel (Ba'al Graphics) and Bernardo Alatorre Tapia (Rotengroth). The album artwork will be found in the gallery. Shortly after it's creation the first ever Astral Luminous t-shirt will be available! Please keep checking in for updates."

HDR Releases Free Download Compilation Album #1 - Wherein Beauty Lies in Depression

As I mentioned on the previous news update, There was a special surprise planned to celebrate the 1-year aniversary of Hypnotic Dirge Records. Hypnotic Dirge Records has released a Free Download Compilation album today complete with one track from each of the Hypnotic Dirge Artists - both previously released tracks, and tracks which are set to appear on future HDR Albums. This compilation album comes complete with full original artwork from Niels Geybels (Depraved Designs) and over 90 minutes of music! There is quite a lot of news and updates on the HDR front to share with you all today!

- Three days ago, On October 20th, 2009 Hypnotic Dirge Records turned 1-years old! Thanks goes out to all of the support thus far. It has been a great past 12 months in which Hypnotic Dirge has grown a great deal and released some fantastic music! We have some great things planned for the near future so keep on the lookout for updates including a special gift to you all for supporting Hypnotic Dirge Records in the past year! - Furthermore, I will be moving on October 30th, so the Hypnotic Dirge Records mailing address has changed! Please do not send any more packages to the old address as I WILL NOT receive them. Hypnotic Dirge Records signs two new projects ! ! !

The Foetal Mind is a depressive black metal project from France. They formed in 2007 and have released 5 demos thus far. Lord Trowe, Lord Dreef,  Lord Vaahl, Werwolf, and Leiden combine to create a full band line-up and also become the first full band line-up to join the Hypnotic Dirge Records Roster! Combining different influences from various sources including Silencer, Forgotten Tomb, Burzum, and Shining , The Foetal Mind is now in the process to release their first full-length album in the latter stages of 2009 on Hypnotic Dirge. 

Echoes Therein Gale is a fantastic dark ambient project which has gained a fair bit of notoriety lately from within the genre. Previously self-releasing an EP featuring Japanese Lyricist 'Kenji Siratori'  (which is available in our FREE DOWNLOADS section) Echoes Therein Gale is now prepared to release their debut album this fall on Hypnotic Dirge Records. An album filled with beautiful compositions and some of the most atmopheric dark ambient ever to be created, Echoes Therein Gale is sure to be a promosing project for many years to come!

General News Update

-First off, the Funeral Fornication album is now officially available as of June 18th - 10 days ago. It is being sold for $9US plus shipping/handling charges. You can purchase a copy here!

-Exiled From Light - Descending Further into Nothingness is being released officialy July 11th but pre-orders have been accepted for quite some time already. Furthermore, all pre-orders have been shipped upon receiving payment, so consider that the 'promo' this time around! You can place an order here. The price for this album is also $9US plus shipping/handling.

-As for the Exiled From Light T-shirts, there may be a slight delay on these. It seems there are some problems with the front image of the shirt and the quality is not as good as it should be. I am doing all I can to fix this problem as soon as possible, and get these printed up with no further delays. For those who have pre-ordered the t-shirt, they may come in a little later than expected, and for this I apologize. If you have any further questions about this, you can always contact me. Funeral Fornication and Exiled From Light Albums out soon!

We are getting nearer to releasing the next two Hypnotic Dirge Records Releases! Funeral Fornication and Exiled From Light are both relatvely new signings to the HDR Roster, and we are very pleased to be releasing their first albums on HDR within the coming month and a half. Funeral Fornication's album comes out June 18th, and Exiled From Light's album comes out July 11th as well as the first ever Exiled From Light shirt also on that date! Blog Section added to website!

There is now a Artist Blogs section on hypnoticdirgerecords.com, which will feature regular updates  from the artists on the HDR Roster regarding recording process, artwork, general updates and anything else the HDR artists feel is relavent. This will be kept to date regularily so make sure you keep checking back for more info! The link is on the left-hand column of the website... or here.

New Projects signed to the Hypnotic Dirge Records Roster

-I am pleased to announce that we have expanded our artist roster today to welcome Valerio Orlandini and Funeral Fornication into the HDR family. This marks only our second roster expansion ever since HDR began and the first since welcoming 'Exiled From Light' onto the roster. It is best to stick to a relatively small roster and as always...quality over quantity is behind this decision.

Valerio Orlandini is the dark ambient side-project from the great italian mastermind behind Symbiosis. With this project, Valerio Orlandini focuses more on a straight dark ambient approach compared to the neo-classical and instrumental approaches sometimes found in Symbiosis. HDR will release the debut Valerio Orlandini album soon!

Funeral Fornication

Funeral Fornication is a one-man project hailing from BC, Canada which began as a pagan black metal band with thrash metal influences. This project has been in the works for 5-6 years releasing demos and then its debut album a couple years ago on Funeral Moonlight Productions. Work is now underway and almost completed for the second album 'Paganheart' Funeral Fornication's style has evolve over the years and now work has begun on a more depressive black metal based album entitled 'Solitude and Suicide' which will be released on HDR in late summer/fall. The track 'The Weeping Tree' which you can find on the Funeral Fornication myspace profile is one of the tracks slated for release on this album. HDR will also carry the debut album on the distro. The past releases from this band, however being different from the signature sound of Hypnotic Dirge, is very strong and deserves your listen!

Neige et Noirceur Album Released / Info on upcoming Immundus release

- 'Crepuscule Hivernal Sans Fin sur les Terres de la Guerre' is now officially released! Pick yourself up a copy by going to the releases section of the website, or on HDR's myspace. The album is being sold for $8US plus shipping.

- The forthcoming Immundus album 'Haunted Memories' is HDR's first Pro-CD release! It is packaged in a beautiful A5 Digipack complete with artwork from Depraved Designs and was profesionally mastered in Milan, Italy. More info on the album can be found on the releases section of the website and we are offering the track 'Whispering Walls' for free download on the Haunted Memories page. The album is set to be released on April 20th, 2009.

When Mine Eyes Blacken is yet another fantastic project from the mastermind Mort (Exiled From Light, Winds of Sorrow, Nystagmus, etc.) It was released by Self-Mutilation Services last month and we obtained a few copies through a trade. Echoes of Silence Album Released!

Today, we officially release the third HDR album, Echoes of Silence - Beyond the Crimson Gates, an album that spans over 60 minutes of music! This is the first release in over 18 months from the veteran Southern California Symphonic Black Metal project. HDR welcomes Exiled from Light 

 I am very exited to announce that we have reached a deal with 'Exiled from Light' to release some future releases and merchandise. Exiled from Light is a fantastic project from the mastermind 'Mort' (Also Winds of Sorrow, When Mine Eyes Blacken, etc.)

Within 2 -3 months , we will be releasing the first ever Exiled from Light T-Shirt and possibly a hoodie if there is any interest!

Sometime down the road, we will also be releasing Exiled From Light's second album 'There is no beauty left here....' on Pro-CD !

Everyone who has not yet heard of this project, I highly recommend checking it out. It is one of my personal favourites and I am very exited to have Mort on board to release his material.
