Here's an interesting band: Russia's Negative Voice. They merge different extreme metal genres flawlessly, with a melodic flare that keeps the music very balanced and dynamic, and isn't merely blasting for 30 or 40 minutes (not that there's a thing wrong with that). From what their Facebook page says they're a four piece, and they just released their sophomore album, "Cold Redrafted" via Hypnotic Dirge Records. I've been listening to it on and off since last night (when found the band on the Archives) and it definitely has a very melancholy and doomy feel while not jumping right on the doom band wagon. The black metal influences are very apparent, and the vocalist's rasps suit the mood of each song perfectly. This is some very well done and versatile metal -they could take any direction musically and it'd work for them and their style of playing. Very much recommend checking this release out
