Promote Hypnotic Dirge Records

The 'Promote HDR' section of the website was created for those of you who would like to help in the promotional aspects of Hypnotic Dirge Records. It is simply a tool  for advice on how to spread the word, as well as a place to get access to HTML, IMG, and VIDEO codes. Spreading the word about HDR hopefully means more sales for the label, which in terms means more releases in better formats as well as more frequent merchandise.

Ways you can help:

1) Add one of the images below as your signature on a forum which you regularily post.
2) Upload some HDR songs onto youtube - Get creative and shoot some video footage as well if you want.
3) Post photos of flyers, album covers, etc. when we have a new release
4) Post links to our news posts on our homepage, or facebook profile (ex. Distribution update)
5) Word of Mouth - Mention the label and the projects on HDR to friends.
6) Spread our video widget around - It is the same widget that is in the 'video' section of our website (scrolldown)
7) If you own a blogspot, add our free HDR Compilation albums on your site for download.
8) Mention our distro whenver possible. We carry over 200 titles in our distro!
9) Add us on Facebook/Myspace or Suscribe to us on Youtube

Just for the record, I do not wish HDR to expand so that it is "more famous" , or so 'everyone knows us" necesarily. It is just a simple fact that in order to release our planned future releases all in Pro-CD editions of 500, as well as printing merchandise, promotional flyers/cards, totaled with the always increasing price of shipping (trade packs to Europe are especially expensive), it is going to be an expensive endeavor, and in order to keep the label afloat, I have to be able to at least make some of the money back that I spend.

Here's another interesting piece of information about the ridiculous price of shipping in Canada. To ship only 1 CD to anywhere outside of North America costs $8.23 at Canada Post. If you add the price of the package itself, and the fee that paypal takes, it is nearly $10.00 to ship out 1 CD. I only charge $6.00 for shipping outside of North America because I think that otherwise it would get to be a bit much, but in reality, it costs me about $10.00, meaning if a CD is sold for $15.00, the label only keeps $5.00 after shipping. Considering the price of printing the CD's (and realizing that most releases will not sell out), the price of shipping the artist their copies, the price of trades which can sometimes be up to $40.00 for a trade to a European label, as well as the price of shipping promotional copies to reviewers, it is quite understandable to be losing large sums of money from nearly every release, especially when looking at a Pro-CD edition of 500 which costs about $1500.00 to manafacture before shipping out the trades, artist copies, and promotional copies.

 If you are a supporter of HDR and/or the artists on our roster, and wish to support our activities in other ways besides buying CD's and Merchandise, then simply help spread these banners/flyers around the internet! By spreading the word about Hypnotic Dirge Records, you are helping to draw new customers to the label, which will ultimetely mean that our sales may improve. Since HDR is completely dependent on sales to generate funds in order to make new releases, and new merchandise, as well as the funds it takes to trade with labels to build our distribution section, the more people that know about Hypnotic Dirge Records, the further our activities can strengthen.
