Valerio Orlandini: Italian electronic music composer, also active in other experimental solo projects.
For those of you who are unaware, Valerio Orlandini is the side project of the italian ambient project 'Symbiosis'. Whildst Symbiosis focuses more on creating all-around atmospheric music with a solid foundation in the dark ambient genre, Valerio Orlandini (a project bearing the composer's own name) is rooted in straight dark ambient. Hypnotic Dirge Records signed Valerio Orlandini in March 2009, and will be releasing his debut full-length album in 2010. Below is the original statement made from the man himself back when the project first began in the fall of 2007.
Statement from 'Valerio Orlandini' - September 18th 2007 (Start of the project) Here I am, Valerio Orlandini. I thought that a few lines to introduce this project were necessary.
I decided, after an experience (that still lasts!) with the melodic ambient project Symbiosis, to create this entity that carries my own name and surname. I would like to put together my greatest interests in Art: music, poetry, photography. A symbiosis of sounds, words and pictures.
I consider myself a sort of "poet borrowed to music and visual art", and I would love to create a total experience for who is interested in my activities. Obviously, not necessarily all the three sides of this experience must come from me: I love to put in music poems written by other artists (or the opposite), as well as linking others' paintings (I am definitely not able to draw, sadly...) and photos with my creations.
Currently, I am creating some dark ambient (a deep and introsopective genre indeed) songs, and I am trying to link them with other forms of Art. The aim (that I do not really know if I am able to reach) is to build up a series of songs to form an album with a strong lyrical and visual part. Then, I am only interested in making my own songs as better as possible, without losing time in tons of useless demos, cdr, split tapes and things like these. I just hope to finish a demo for labels only, in order to find one interested in my project. If any is already intrigued, please get in touch.
