1. Who are you and how did the band get started?

Vin de Mia Trix is a three-piece band from Kyiv, Ukraine. It was founded in 2007 by Serge, already an experienced Doom connoisseur, but the real start was given in the winter of 2008-2009, when Andrew (vocals) and Alex (bass and vocals) completed the line-up. From that point on, our slow but steady progress brought us to where we are today.

2. Why did you choose Doom, and how would you describe your style?

We all love Doom Metal for its ability to mix aggression, despair and sadness into beautiful and/or painful combinations. It resonates with something deep within our minds; after all, we simply find its tempo consonant with our internal rhythms. Besides, Doom music can be very diverse, giving us the opportunity to express wide range of thoughts and feelings without any restrictions. That’s why we find it somewhat hard to describe our style – its roots lie somewhere between Funeral and Death-Doom, but there are plenty of elements from Black Metal, Post Rock, Progressive Metal, Blues and some other genres that we can’t definitely point out. It’s been changing over the years from Death-Doom/Dark Metal to what it is today, and we can’t predict where this road will take us.

3. What would you consider to be the high point of your career so far?

Our greatest achievement so far is performance on Doom Over Kiev IV festival alongside with Saturnus and Autumnia in front of about 350 dedicated Doom Metal fans. Hopefully, our (already recorded) debut album will see the light of day soon, and that will surely become the new peak for us.

4. Which three bands most influenced you?

It’s hard to name just three, because basically everything we’ve ever heard and liked leaves its trace. I guess it’s possible to name My Dying Bride, Katatonia and Opeth as major contributors to our collective consciousness, still mentioning Esoteric, Evoken, Pink Floyd and Mournful Congregation as important sources of personal inspiration for different band members.

5. What are your plans for the near future?

The work on our debut full-length, which summarizes first three years of our existence, is over, and we are searching for a label now. We have much bigger plans for our second album, though. If we manage to properly implement everything we have in mind, that album should become something really special. But there’s still tons and tons of work until then, of course.

6. If there is anything you would like to add, the last words are yours.

Thank you for reading; keep a good taste in music; and STAY DOOMED!
