Another release that leaves me with mixed feelings. On one hand I think this four-track EP is cool because its melodic doom/death in the vein of old Katatonia, October Tide, Daylight Dies or Rapture. In general you cant do anything wrong to me with this kind of music. Still I do have some complaints about Alpha. It all sounds very much the same and there are only four songs. The melodies by guitarist Cinthya are all alike and the vocals of John are not really varied. Its all too one-dimensional and that needs some work. In this case you get a bit bored and the CD isn't even 20 minutes long. Nethermost from Texas still have some work to do.
