Official Hypnotic Dirge Records Releases

The albums listed below are the official Hypnotic Dirge Records releases beginning from our earliest foray as a label producing short run, yet professional CD-r releases up to our current approach and standing as a mid-sized underground label releasing albums  in Pro-CD editions of 500-1000 copies.  

Generally speaking, it was with Exiled From Light's There is no beauty left here... album that HDR first switched over into releasing only Pro-CD albums. There was however two additional Pro-CDr albums released shortly thereafter in September 2010 before The Foetal Mind's The Grand Contraction and netra's Melancolie Urbaine albums ushered in the true start of the new era for Hypnotic Dirge. 

Of course, as things move forward into the future, further "improvements" in terms of release sizes (1000 instead of 500 for example) or packaging options may occur, so it is best not to think of the HDR releases as being in separate "eras" but rather as a continuing evolution that will always be changing, and hopefully for the better. 

Nowadays (as of mid 2012), Hypnotic Dirge Records is mainly striving to release unique and innovative albums within the black metal, doom metal, and post-rock genres, in varying booklet sizes and packaging.  Look for this to occur more as our next few albums for 2012 and beyond are released.
